Terms & Conditions
- Entrants must attend a university or college or have been attending a higher education institute whilst the bulk of the film was being made. Postgraduates and sixth-form college students are welcome to submit.
- We accept films from countries outside of the U.K.
- There are No Limits—films may be of any length. However, we strongly recommend you consider how the film will play to an audience. Be honest with yourself—is it just long and boring? Less is often more.
- There are No Limits
- Films may feature any content or subject matter, provided it is legal in the U.K. The festival organisers reserve the right not to screen any film deemed grossly inappropriate. The festival organisers reserve the right to impose age restrictions at screenings of all films.
- Films must not break copyright laws. Copyrighted materials can include footage, images, published text and music. We will be screening films publicly, so we can’t legally show anything that breaches copyright. You must have permission from the artist/copyright holder before submitting. For music, try unlicensed music, or find someone to compose an original score for you.
- Films may be submitted as a PAL recording on DVD, Mini-DV tape or as a .avi file (though we prefer DVD) We ask that films feature 3 seconds of black at the start. We ask that DVD menus are plain and silent.
- You may enter more than one film. Only one film per DVD disc. All DVDs and tapes should be clearly labelled with entrants name, film title and contact email.
- You must include a separate signed two-page entry form for each film you submit.
- Unfortunately we cannot return films, all you can arrange to collect your film in person at the festival.
- We aim to screen EVERY film submitted. The festival organisers will review submitted films to confirm they are suitable for inclusion in the festival. We will let you know once your film has been accepted.
